Steve,

Your posting on this board is a dishonest representation of your commitments to CCI.
You made a contractual arrangement with CCI but than you didn't follow through with your commitments.
You also didn't post the entire letter from CCI. You left out the part where you were informed that CCI receives many, many complaints about poor service and low value from your organization as well as accusations of dishonest dealings.

This was a foolish thing for you to do.

In my humble opinion... sounds to me like sour grapes. You made a contractual agreement knowing the terms up front. To later come back and then blame the people you made the agreement with because you either didn't pay attention up front or or simply don't honor your agreements.
I think the nature of your post on the forums is not only in poor taste but extremely unprofessional and speaks volumes about your business ethics. Thank you though, for narrowing down the field of acceptable extended warranty plans!

Leaving out paragraphs 5-8 of the letter from CCI, which I believe George describes, is sneaky at best. A lot of us scan messages and could have easily missed that little point.
When some of the "friends" post I sometimes feel like I am reading the equivilent of a school kid prank phone call and picture the posters giggling away at how funny and clever they are. Grow up.

Note to anyone who bought one of these ACC contracts - the refusal to honor payment of your renewals is a failure to honor a contract with you, not CCI. And if he arbitrarily drops this requirement what is to stop him from dropping any other aspect of the agreement? How can you expect to be covered for anything? I would be talking to a lawyer and seeking a refund using the letter and message as it was posted as justification and proof of a broken contract.
What a way to build a business! Have a problem with a business partner? Screw the customer! Why would anyone EVER consider doing business with this guy? I sure won't.

I find this situation very disturbing. I don't care who is right or wrong but rather CCI receiving a "kick-back" from ACC.
I can understand charging someone for advertising in the newsletter, but to receive "kick-back" is outrageous!
There is no such thing as a free lunch. Don't you think ACC will add into the cost of the policy the "kick-back" amount?
Why do I have to pay an inflated amount? I am now sponsoring CCI and the entire membership. I can use the $500 to $1000 just as much as they can!
I had always thought that when CCI recommended certain companies, it was to keep them in business so they would be able to support Country Coach Owners.
How many other companies have to pay a "kick-back" to CCI? No wonder some people are complaining about high prices.

I sure hope I get a reply to this.

Thanks,

Ed,

I understand your point and you ask a very fair question. Here are the facts which I hope you will find to be a satisfactory response.
This deal between ACC and CCI was dated January 13, 2010. The signatories were Steve Burgess and Ted Wright, then President of CCI.
I have been able to identify only two payments pursuant to this agreement from ACC to CCI.
One is a payment of $750 for three year membership dues for 5 people in 2010. You will be happy to know that you are one of those from that group of five.
The other is a payment of $400 in 2011 the contents of which I have not yet determined.

In summary:

This is a deal made by past leadership of CCI which was only partially honored by ACC. There were no controls built to monitor or manage the relationship. I don't believe that we have other deals like this with other partners but I am checking to see. I will report back to you if I find that statement to be incorrect.

I hope you feel that I have answered your question.

Hi Ed,

From what I can understand, when you buy an extended warranty from just about any company you are paying some amount above the actual cost of the warrant and the salesperson/company selllng it is getting what you call a "kick-back".
For example, when we bought our first CC, the finance department at the local dealership was going to make in the neighborhood of $1500 if we bought their warranty. After a discussion with our RV mechanic we chose to buy the Good Sam warranty because he said it was a better product instead of the one at the dealership. The gal in the finance department got really pissed at our mechanic (he regularly did work for the dealership) because he "steered" us away from her warranty.

PS I thought the whole situation was rally suspect from the start but its very interesting that "old management" was the dealmaker with ACC and now they choose to support CCFI instead of CCI!

Everyone who sells these extended warranties gets a "kick back". Why do you think AARP recommends a certain seniors insurance policy?

Finance companies and mortgage brokers get the same "kick back".

George's explanation of the contract with CCI logically indicates the poster of the original message and partial CCI letter knew very well who was involved.
That puts a different light on the insinuations, heck accusations, that Jack Hoadley was lining his pockets with ill gotten funds from CCI members' pockets.

I think Jack is due an apology.

And this sniping at owners because of what club they align with should stop.
The reason I like this board is we share info and help each other. Let's stick to that, please.
