Intellitec EMS??

I have the Intellitec EMS and the Optional Monitor that has the AMP meter in the Center of the Panel, it does not display anything? Is there a way to set it up or does it work automatically? I think it is suppose to display the AMPS that the MH is Using? Any Help or Advice?

On mine 2006 Allure the monitor does not give usage if I am hooked up to 50 amp. Under 30 amp and genset it does give info.

On 50A power you are essentially running two phase power. That means 240 volts is split into two 120 volt circuits with a common neutral leg. Intellitec didn't implement the current transformers (required to sense AC amps) in such a way as to be able to provide an accurate current readout. Hence the unit displays nothing. I believe they sense the neutral leg which wouldn't show anything on a 50A connection. It's also assumed that 50A service will cover all your electrical accessories. Which removes the potential for overloads. The impetus behind their system was to automatically shut down less essential loads when hooked to 20-30A service to avoid tripping a breaker. A problem only if you couldn't access the breaker panel for a reset. In my view it's sort of a funky system that tries to avoid problems that would best be solved by just using good judgement in the first place. Hope this helps.

Where I am now there has been a couple of rigs that have had problems with a surge or some other problem, they had some appliances and TV's destroyed. I have the surge protector(hard wired) and it has tripped out on a couple of occasions, had the pedestal checked out and nothing was found, just thinking of anyway to tell if the power spiked, other than the surge protector? The easiest way is to purchase a recording voltmeter. They will record the highest and lowest voltage readings.
