Carrying extra parts 03 Intrigue your recommendations?

Yahoo Message Number: 77274
Hello fellow coach owners,

We have an 03 intrigue Ovation 42 ft it has served us well these past 9 years and would like to continue to enjoy it many more years. I have read about ride height valves failing in previous posts along with other items that can set you back on a trip. I was talking to a gentleman yesterday with our same coach and he has replaced more than one ride height valve, he carries spares.
My question is should I be carrying one or more of these as spares just in case, we have never had a failure in our coach. Can you limp in if one of these fails?
Also I would be curious to hear from other Intrigue owners as to what extra parts they might carry with them. I would not have a problem with carrying a few items that are not too expensive to help us out in case of a road failure. I now carry the usual fuses, clamps, duct tape etc.

Thanks for your input

Jeryy,

You can limp in from a failed ride height valve. The HWH leveling system can be used in lieu of normal ride height system.
I suggest that you carry engine belts and fuel filters. Others carry more but that is all I carry.

I would most definitely carry an extra ride height valve. In additio: Extra coolant for the engine and generator. Extra fuel filters for the engine and Hydro hot. I would have the fuel lines replaced to the genset and hydro hot. You need some transynd for the transmission and some dexron III for the hydraulic system. Don't mix the two. You might want to carry a Hydro hot fuel atomizer nozzle. I carry extra drawer glide latches that fit at the rear of the glide. I carry 5 and 10 lbs door latches and have an extra bay door latch. I also have some of the Segi window weep slot covers. I carry extra brass fittings for my water hoses as the original pressed on fittings fail after a while. If I'm Near Chino or Eugene I have the Paint Department or Oregon Motor Coach make me up some fresh touch up paint every third year. I carry Sikkoflex in white and black for the occasional touchup around slide room seams etc. Have a bunch of various sized self tapping stainless steel screws and rivets, #4,6,8,10, nuts and bolt in 32 and 24 threads per inch for the occasional failure, etc. And carry 6 european style hinges for cabinet doors, that eventually fail. Carry touch up sticks, stain, semi-gloss polyurethane from Minwax, and old english polish with Panel magic to keep the Walnut looking like new. Carpet cleaning products and Meguairs Color restorer, waxes, polishes are in the bay along with Pink stuff (glass wax) to keep the coated windows up to snuff. Also use 20/20 by Eagle One to clean windows. Use jewelers polish for the Aluminum wheels. And everyone needs Goo Gone to clean up messes and Contact cement to fix peeling wall paper, If your at Northwest RV supply in Eugene you can find the wall covering seam tape, too. HWH hydraulic fluid for slide rooms, water filters, WD-40 and other lubricants, an experimental to me tire plug kit and 250 lbs of tools. Electrical, nylon, Gaff, rubber tape, slide room wiper seal, nylon rope, string, Zip Ties and I'm sure I am forgetting something! TWI 2004 42' Intrigue 11731

Thomas,

Where did you find the drawer glide latches? I haven't had any luck finding them. Mine are plastic and made by Accuride but the manufacturer hasn't been any help.

Thanks,

Barney

Hi Kevin,

You don't happen to have a contact number for Accuride do you? The folks I've been talking to won't even own up to making the thing, except it has their name molded into the part. Even sent them a picture but no response since.

Thanks,

Barney

If you will call Shawn Davis at Davis cabinets in Junction City, Oregon he has both the plastic glide latches and the european hinge CC used on my coach. Country Coach should have them, too.

Barney, I've ordered them from a guy named GEORGE, he was either in their parts or technical dept.
They come in 2 different spring pull ranges the Grey colored unit is stronger than the Dark Brown units
