Extended Warranties

I am new to the group and only posted 1 question a few months back when I was ordering my new Intrigue regarding what diesel engine the group thought would best 2006 or 2007.
Hands down 2006 was suggested most often. The problems with the new fuel and problems with new engines are still unknown.
I am about to pickup my 2008 Country Coach Intrigue with an 2006 Cat 525 hp on August 21 from the factory in Junction City.
I would like to get any impute on Extended Warranties, any experiences some of you may have had, what warranty companies are the best and stand behind their product. I am looking for as many years as I can get, I will put 5000 to 10,000 miles a year on the coach. Any help would really be great.

On this trip we have utilized Coach Net 3 times in 45 days. Two tows for blown engine and one service call in first 70 miles foir a broken hose clamp on turbo booster. Your call is quickly taken a tech either comes right on the line to diagnosis or calls back within moments. After dispatching tow-calls back to make sure you are still in a safe place- even gave the phone number for local patrol to assist tow truck for traffic break on freeway if needed or to put cones out for added clearance. We are very happy with the service-no deductibles nada!
We have also called US Warranty-they cover everything after first year-yes virtually everything-gaskets-microwave. Carl gave us loads of info after engine problems and followed through to make sure we were getting service through Cummins-he even called 2 weeks later to make sure we were on track and still having fun-living out of a car!

We finally bought an extended warranty for our coach 'cuz it made us feel better in case of catastrophic happenings. (new engine, etc). We bought it in the 11th month of our coaches life so it was considered a new coach. However, the timing did start with our purchase so we lost the first year we paid for. We did a lot of questioning of folks and their experiences with a variety of companies they used. We found the most important input was given to us by the service facility we use as to who they find the best support from for their customers. Their input was valuable since they don't sell any warranties. We live in California so we can't buy one from a risk management type group but have to go with an insurance type company instead. The 2 that they found the best were Western General and Good Sam. We went with Western General and have had no experience with them so far since our warranty only expired in January. We hope we never have to use them! Good luck in the hunt and don't feel that you have to buy one with your coach at purchase time. You have the first year to do so unless you need to finance it. Also grind them on price as the dealers make alot of money on them.

When I sold my '03 Allure, I got about half the price of the policy back from the dealer with no hassle. It was a 7 year policy that I had about 3 1/2 years.

Good morning again,

I'm on a roll so here is some more trivia concerning the rally.

Factory day mainly followed the same format as prior years.
With so many extra people at the rally some of the tours were crowded and not as viewer friendly as in the past. I'm sure CC will address this issue in the future.

I did not go on many tours this year but did learn the following.
Intrigue final assembly has moved into plant 10 alongside Magna and Affinity. Incidently the 2008 Intrigues will be getting larger front tires and I believe a beefed up suspension. My speculation is that it will be similar to the Magna & Infinity.
Production rate for plant ten (Intrigue/Magna/Affinity) is around four coaches a week.
My understanding is that the Inspire line has moved to plant 2 alongside the Allure. I was surprised to hear this as I though the Inspire final assembly line had been set up specifically for that product. (I wonder if the production numbers are down?)
CC has introduced a 'Founders edition' of the Inspire. This upgraded coach is pushing the envelop toward the Allure and they have even introduced a 43 foot model with tag axle. It has the side swinging bay doors.
Cockpit changes across most of the product range include new instrumentation (gages) and a new steering wheel layout.
Many coaches on exhibit including a 36' Inspire had full tile floor surfaces from bath the entry.
The number of coaches on display seems much larger then in prior years.
Not on display is a new Magna with rear bathroom. Should be at FMCA meeting if ready on time. (Rumor has it a rear bathroom Allure also on the drawing board).
I heard several higher level coaches have sold at the rally including a Prevost yesterday. Will learn more tonight at the final dinner.
As written by Lee Casebeer, Bob Lee seems in fine form and is full of ideas for the future of Junction City.
