Poor driving lights and no running lights, my solution

I found it very hard to see at night when driving on the highway in the rain. I had a hard time even when it was not raining. My wife was ahead of me one night in her car and she said my headlights looked like two pumpkins behind her. I had a friend check out the bulb assembly in the coach only to find the lights were out of a 2001 Toyota highlander. My friend found lights out of a high end Lexus SUV that could be modified to fit behind the existing lens. I also had him put LED running lights that tie to the coach house system so they would be on whenever we had the battery on. They do not pull hardly any juice and are great running lights and night lights. I like the updated "Audiesk" look they give day or night. Photo 64 is the old light at night, 344 is the new low beam, 158 is the new light assemble, and 81 is the running light, night light look. The beams, while bright, have never caused someone to flash back at me. The high beams are out of this world. The LEDs are available in many colors, mine have a blue white look.

Monty,

What I was impressed with most is the amount of improvement in the lights once the new bulbs were installed. Was it a big job making the new bulbs modified to fit? Your friend should be proud of the work he did on your coach. It does look great.

Thanks Dave,

It was a lot of work to really dial in the lights and seal the housing properly. Scott had to cut the back out of the light housing and reshape and mold with new fiberglass to get the bulbs to fit. He used lights I believe from a Lexus 460, the European model, to get it just right. He is a perfectionist and unlike the original assembly it is sealed better and more adjustable. He discovered some very crude work from the factory in the way they had cut out the nose cone and attached the assembly which he corrected. If you are interested in talking to Scott his business is Multnomah Sound Design and his phone number is 503 502 4048. He has added navigation, Bluetooth, and integrated the stereo, DVD, CD and In Motion Satellite system. He revamped the camera system to a four camera system. Two side cameras, activated with the turn signals, a nose camera looking down on the front bumper, and a new back camera, all night vision. These offer great security at night enabling me to see 360 degrees around the Coach. He is also adding additional plugs, and remote control locks for all of the basement doors and is wiring in the drawer dishwasher we are adding under the cook top.
