2003 Intrigue--Dash air

We took our 2003 Intrigue in for a couple of items and asked that the dash air be checked because it was not cooling adequately. The rig was in the shop for 4 weeks, but I won't bore you the details and excuses that we were given for the delay in getting it back. Jerry finally said we want it back, fixed or not because I have to go take care of some business.
When checking the dash air, it was determined that the hoses needed to be replaced. It seems that a previous owner had it worked on and whomever did the work did a really poor job. After replacing all the hoses and doing who knows what---now the compressor will not run. It was running when we took it in for service. The tech thinks it is a relay, but cannot locate it. All the schematics are in the book except for the one that is needed. Apparently whomever worked on it before took them out and did not put them back in the book.
The tech tried calling Country Coach but was told that it would cost $35 to start the call then $8/minute for the length of time on the phone!!!

So, for $1500, we have a coach with no dash air!
Does anybody have any suggestions what to look for? Any help will be appreciated.
I am sorry, I don't have the coach #. All the papers area in the coach. It is a 2003 Intrigue Suite of Dreams.

My dash air compressor expired. I bought a new compressor, took it to my local auto A/C repair shop who purged the system installed the compressor and re charged the system, all for under $300.00. It has worked as new the past 5 years. Barrie Boas, 94 Concept 5111

Check with the folks at Oregon Motorcoach Center (800 942-6860). They will probably be able to help you and I don't think they will charge for the phone call. Hope you find the solution for your problem, a coach without dash air is no fun.

The dash air on my 99 Intrigue stopped working and I was told it would cost in excess of $700.00 to fix it. A mechanic friend that has worked on coaches for years told me to use the generator and run the roof air. He said it is more efficient than running the dash air and running the generator with a load on it is good for the generator. Most generator failures are caused by lack of use!

I agree that the generator must be run to maintain their condition. However, in my experience, a properly functioning dash air is adequate 90% of the time. The cost of fuel for running a generator several hours a day is cost prohibitive, in my opinion. We already have $1500 in the repair of the air, so need to finish the job! And, at which time we are ready to sell the unit, it will have to be fixed anyway.

Sounds like you got a bargain!! I will keep that in mind if I find that the compressor is out. We are still trying to figure out what is wrong.
When we picked up the coach and drove it to the storage shed, Jerry discovered that one mirror was moved. He assumed that they had moved it to pull in the bay. When he was started to move it back he found the casing cracked! So, another trip out the repair facility was necessary. They did not give any hassle--just said they would order another one.

We know where we WON'T go for service once all this is over!
