atwood water heater

We started having some trouble with our Atwood heater. The electric side seems to be heating very slowly or not at all. By the time the water gets to the galley it is just luke warm. The shower is a little warmer, but not much. When I switch to gas the heater fires up but soon goes out. The red light inbetween the gas and electric switches does not go on. I thought it was supposed to be on when we did not have ignition. We have had a good deal of rain up here in WI. Any ideas out there?

We still do not have hot water. Warm enough to take a shower, warm in lavy, cold in galley. We did make a discovery. If the washer is on and running, the water gets hot like it used to. I can hear the propane click on when ever we do use water. I have replaced the t-stats, and diode, and cleaned all the terminals. The hot water is there just not where we need it, unless the washer is going. I give up. Any ideas.

Check the outside shower faucet. If it is on it will mess with your access to hot water.

Sounds like a cross feed, the cold and hot water are open to each and the cold water is flowing in with the hot. Is the fixture in the outside bay hooked to a hose with the valves left open?

Thanx. My outside shower was on and that was somehow interfering with the hot water. Water heater back to normal.
