  • With a Sam's Card you can get a nice low price on diesel at Sam's Centers that had have Fuel Stations with Diesel Fuel pumps. We have one in Springfield, MO and stop there going from and returning home.
  • With A Safeway Grocery Store affinity card (free) you get a nice discount on many groceries, and can earn 10 cents off credit on the first 30 gallons of fuel (gas or diesel) for every $100 of groceries you buy in the store.
Been there, done both.

So, you spend $100 for groceries, and $120 for 30 gals of diesel, that comes to $220 and you save $3. That looks like a little less than 1.5 cents/gal. And the other side of the coin, if you fill your car with gas, it only takes 15 gals that's a $100 for groceries and $60 for gas, you save $1.50 on a total expenditure $160 which is less than a penny a gallon. To advertise a 10 cent per gallon savings on fuel sounds great but when you look at the numbers it's not all that good.
