Our Pre-Flight Check

Yahoo Message Number: 80222
Hi,

Jeannie and I stay in one place for long periods of time. As we approach our departure date (usually in Spring and Fall) we go over the bus to ensure it's road worthy. Found some melted wires which never inspires comfort. Otherwise all seemed fine. Here's the dope on our
scene:

I also completed a simple circuit breaker box modification to allow the Norcold to run off the invertor during travel. Our pre-flight check involves clamming the bus up and making a short fuel run about 2 weeks prior to blast off. It allows us time to order any parts and fix stuff before getting booted on July 1st. I'm glad to report we scored 70 gallons of diesel and the bus ran fine to and from the truck stop. The truck drivers are always glad to see me at the filling stalls.

Oh yes, the invertor thing. That worked fine too for the hour we tested it. More details on that will be forth coming once we complete our 400 mile exodus to Colorado. I'd also like to experiment with a longer 24-48 hour cycle to see how the battery bank and solar system handle it. Our bus is somewhat of a pig regarding phantom loads, many of which could be shut down. I'll need to put my thinking cap on to get valid data and properly present it. Safe travels to one and all.

Best - Scott
