Radio Replacement

When we recently bought our '98 36-ft CC Intrigue, it was obvious that we'd have to replace the dashboard stereo for several reasons. In addition to wanting a CD player, rather than a cassette player, the controls on the Sony unit were very small and hard to see. Besides, I refuse to take my eyes off the road to mess with a stereo. In fact, folks messing with their stereo is a much higher cause of crashes than folks talking on cell phones!
Anyway, we went to a local Circuit City and told the tech that we wanted a stereo that would be easy to manipulate without looking at it ... i.e., one with knob for volume and station changing, in addition to a few buttons. He suggested a certain Pioneer unit, and pointed out that its wireless remote (in the hands of my wife) would solve my "problem" completely! And it has! I no longer have to mess with the radio, since Geri does it from her seat, with the remote. And, when we decide to play a CD, we either load it ahead of time ... at a rest stop, for example ... or I can do it (without looking) while driving. To make things better, we're going to add a multi-CD changer, and apparently one of their models holds 50 CDs. Time will tell.
Anyway, many of you might've known about wireless remotes for auto stereo, but it was news to us.

Oh ... they also replaced the four ceiling mounted speakers with Infinity speakers that have adjustable tweeters. Total cost for everything: less than $500. Sound quality improvement: Priceless.
