Dometic Ice Maker Water Line Replacement?

After 10 years, the dreaded plastic water line to the ice maker in my Dometic 1492 is finally cracking. I plan to replace it with copper piping. A few questions for those who have done this job: 1. I am not sure, but it would appear on my coach that if I can slide the fridge in about a foot or so, I may be able to reach up to the connection to the ice maker on the back of the fridge via the outside access panel in the side of the coach. Is this true? 2. How do I free up the fridge to move it inwards? Where are the screws that hold it in place? 3. I can see the type of fittings that attach to the solenoid. There are female threaded plastic compression fittings on the plastic line. What type of fitting is used to attach the line to the icemaker connection on the back of the fridge up where I cannot see at present? Is is the same type of fitting? 4. If I use a 1/4 inch copper line, what kind of fittings do I use to attach the copper lines to the solenoid, the ice maker connection and the water connection? Will I need a flare tool?

1. Not sure, I did mine during cooling unit replacement when frige was out on my Dometic NDR 1292.

2. To free up my Dometic NDR 1292, there were 2 (or 4?) bolts on the inside bottom (floor) of the frige. There were two more accessable from outside thorugh the access panel going into the floor on each side of the frige.

3. As I recall, that is just a straight tube going into the top of the frige. The selonoid at the bottom is the cutoff.

4. You might not need a flare tool? There is a brass wedge-like compact-type washer that fits over the plastic line to seal it, which might fit over the copper line?

My new plastic line from Dometic had a freeze-protection heating element that was part of the assembly.
