Ladder specs

I have a 2005 Allure and want to put a ladder on the back. Does anyone know where or if the Allure has the blocking to put a ladder on it.

Craig,

I use a telescoping ladder which stores well in any of the bays. It allows easy repositioning to check and inspect things on your bus like canopies, slide tops, caulk, etc. Also it's good for removing and installing the snap on window covers. Here's an example of the product: Xtend & Climb 770P Aluminum Telescoping Ladder Type II Home Series, 12.5-Foot... If that rather long link doesn't work, search on "telescoping ladder" for many options. This is an option (perhaps) if a permanent ladder doesn't work out for you.
These ladders are a bit heavy to move around and their sliding mechanisms require being kept clean and lubricated. In really cold weather they can freeze which means a jam up. Nothing is without some drawbacks. That said, I wouldn't be without one as they are very convenient for accessing the high places on the bus.

Do you use the 12 or the 15 foot ladder? Do you use anything to protect the side of the motorhome?

My coach came without a ladder and Holland Motors installed one for me. It is very convenient to just have the ladder on the coach.

I have a ladder on the way to me to correctly fit my 2005 Allure 430. We are selling this coach and will sell this ladder separately for $375 plus shipping to you. It will still be sealed in the original box. This is made specifically for this CC model. I will be installing it on my coach next week so let me know if you want it soon.

Gil - I bought the 15 footer although I've never extended it completely. Looking back, I might have been better of with a 12 footer. Having multiple steps compressed at the bottom makes for a BIG step on and off the ladder. Depending on how you extend the ladder this could be eased somewhat. Not a big deal. I guess I wanted to have some extra length to allow a comfortable pitch against the bus. Again, I've never used the full 15 feet. There are two hard plastic caps on the ladder's top. I don't use anything on them and haven't had issues. It would be a good idea (added measure of safety) to obtain two foam beer/soda can holders and put them over those caps. The hard plastic is a bit slippery especially after a waxing.
