Hydro-Hot Stir Pump

Yahoo Message Number: 81167
Hi,

I was having issues with my hot water running cool to cold before it should. This repair experience turned up a failed GRI stir pump. A new Cooper Standard pump kit solved the problem. Read all about it and take a look inside the old pump here:

http://www.muniac.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=108#Post108 If you are experiencing a quickly cooling hot water faucet perhaps your stir pump is shot too. A do it yourself repair is possible and maybe my chronicle will help you. Here's a list of Hydro-Hot repair/maintenance items so far:
1) Tank level switch
2) Electric heating element over temperature switch
3) Multiple burner .035" nozzles
4) Webasto control box
5) Drain plumbing
6) Overflow tubing
7) Webasto turbine motor
8) Webasto turbine motor coupling
9) Adjust air mixture for 6K feet altitude
10) Anti-scald valve
11) Tank level switch #2
12) Stir pump

13) Various radiator caps
14) Tank level switch #3
15) Fuel filter

Mr. Fix it has been busy. The good news is the Hydro-Hot unit is working pretty well right now. Showers are great as are other hot water related experiences. It been a fun time.

Best - Scott
