Route recommendation Bryce Canyon National Park

Hi All

Has anyone traveled from Bryce Canyon NP to Zion NP in Utah? One of the staff in Moab recommended taking 89 to the Zion Park road and cutting through the park. All recommendations greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow we are off to see Arches NP.

We have not been to Zion for a couple of years but the limit for a coach going through the tunnel on Rt 9 into the park from the east was 40'. Even if they will let you through at 42' you have to pay to be escorted. I would call the ranger station at Zion east and make sure they will let you through the tunnel. If not, head back to I-15 and go in from the west.

If you're over about 13' tall - NO GO!
In southern Utah there are only two "comfortable" routes for large RVs between US-89 and the I-15 (Zion NP) corridor: I-70 or drop south to AZ SR-389/UT SR-59.
If you plan to try one of the other routes, check a mountain driving guide first! You're likely to encounter grades up to 13% and some very tight switchback turns.

I don't know where you are headed after Bryce, but I took Route 12 into Escalante, Boulder and Torrey and it was a scenic delight. The road can easily handle any rig size. there are some steep climbs but nothing your DP can't handle.
