Question re 315 tires

Yahoo Message Number: 82489
I know there has been a lot of comment on the 315's vs the 295's, most of which I've followed, but not necessarily remembered. I am about to replace the rear 295'5 on my '06 Magna and wonder if the 315's will fit? Is there a difference between manufacturers? I have Michelin 315's on the front which were replaced in 2010. The rears are Goodyear which have not worn well, i.e. serious cupping on the tags even after alignment. So, I want to go with Michelin for the rear 6 tires, but trust the wisdom of this list more than that of the average tire dealer.

Any thoughts or experience will be appreciated.

Hi Glen

Please make sure you check the 6 bolts on the tag mounting bracket, making sure they are tight. See the "Photos" in the "2008 Affinity" folder to see what happens when the bolts let go completely (well, all but 1 and 1/2). Also check the drive axle shocks to be sure they have not snapped the piston shaft. As for the tires, I'm using 315 Michelins and like them very much. Got them through the FMCA program, a good deal!

Good luck and be safe!
