Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] drivingWe are a bit the same way. We have a manufacturer's rep business and need to travel pretty much how business dictates. A couple of years ago we were in Louisville, KY, for a trade show and found out we needed to be in Mesa, AZ in 3 days, so away we went! I think because it's our mindset to do what we need to do if we can, we usually have fun while doing it. We both look forward to the 400 miles or less per day as well as using the non-freeway highways and now and then are able to do that. It's a great way to travel, and we even can see ourselves going 300 miles or less.
I have enjoyed reading about leaving early and arriving well enough before suppertime to have a glass of wine leisurely (I hope somebody wrote that!!) while cooking dinner. We've done that also a few times, and it's great! Wendy's chili is our meal more often than not or their delicious burgers with microwaved broccoli from the coach to keep us healthy! (No, we don't work for Wendy's!)
We also have a 23' Airstream which we use when visiting relatives with shorter driveways, for example, and places where we're working that are more quickly gotten to with our Ford pickup towing the Airstream, and then we do go at least 550 miles or more per day because time matters most often then.
We Country Coachers do have varied lives and reasons for traveling for sure! Thanks for writing about the more lovely sounding way of travel which we hope to do a lot more of one of these days.
