TV gone bad

My main 32 inch tv has gone black but still has sound. Sharp Model lc32d4ou

I am assuming it is shot (little over 5 years old)
Has anyone found a direct replacement that will fit in the hole (center mount over the dash) without modification?

I had this done in March 2012. I found a Sansumg LED 40' that fit in the cabinet. Width is not the problem. The height is the issue. I had CC in Junction City do the change out and their work was great.
They added spacers on the sides and trimmed a little off the top just so I would have a little more room for the button that was on the bottom. It would have fit with out the upper part being trimmed.
The only thing that we did not care about is all the other connections for gods no what are not inside the cabinet. My old Panasonic 32" was not digital and therefore more cableing was needed. I would be willing to send you pictures of the befire and after if you want off line.

I just replaced my front TV with a 40" Samsung & it fit in the existing space.

I replaced the 34 with a Samsung 40"LCD, I also added a 1 inch filled on each end. Looks and works great

Thanks for the responses. I have looked at the Samsung 40" tvs and there is no way they would fit in my cabinet. I am wondering if my cabinet is different than yours.

I would appreciate some photos if possible off line

You may want to look at the 39" Vizio MODEL NUMBER: E390-A1. This unit will fit perfect in my 05 Inspire.

You did not mention whether you had selected different inputs to the TV. My question is "Does the TV remain black irrespective of what input has been selected?" Of course I am assuming that your TV has the capability to have more than one input.
Many TV's have multiple inputs these days, so the first thing I would do is check to see if the TV can produce a picture via any other input. Many of the RV manufacturers simply wired the TV's to utilized a single input and wired nothing to the other inputs.
If the TV produces no picture or graphics of any kind irrespective of what input on the TV that has been selected, then like you I would have to assume the TV has indeed gone bad. When I say the TV produces no graphics, I am refering to the selection of the menu option that should produce graphics where by you can select various menu options like "Picture or Sound".
I mention this because if the TV will produce the graphics for Menu then it would indicate that there is not really a problem with the TV's ability to render a picture, there fore the problem lies elsewhere!
There are many ways in which to send a signal to the set, for instance, via the SAT RCVR, via a cable connection or via a DVD player. Is everything for your particular installation wired to be sent to the TV via the Wiengard distribution switch, with the exception of the DVD player? The Wiengard distribution switches have been known to go bad!

For what it's worth, these are my thoughts on this subject!

The condition of the tv is sound no picture. No menus, wait one moment please, SAT message, etc. I have found this to be a common problem on the internet for this model. Unfortunately as it is at least 6 years old the form, connection capabilities, and speaker locations has changed dramatically. Only one rgb, speakers facing the rear and much smaller overall than the older models. So now I am trying to decide whether to get a shim frame built and use the smaller 32 inch or get the whole front cabinetry redone to accommodate a 40 inch.
