Headlamp wiring upside down

You will recall that I had some issues with my Xenon headlamps and adjustment and the mechanic found that the upgraded lamps had been installed upside down, physically. He corrected this however I now have the high beam dash light on when the lamps are dipped!!! I do not understand how he missed this. I seem to remember reading on this group I think that some one else had the same issue when upgrading to Xenons and that it was not a simple back to front wiring problem?? I have searched to archive but no luck. Anyone remember about this??
