Replacing DEAD BOLT lock

Yahoo Message Number: 84196
I am replacing my dead bolt lock on the entry door, does anyone have any tips on removing the upholstered door panel to get access? I found a new lock on ebay. Also, can the "clicking" or pop noise be corrected while the panel is off?

thanks,
Jerry

The clicking noise is very likely the door check. Russ has designed a fix over three years ago, and it has been successfully used in over 500 coaches. Below is a copy of the post I made about a year ago on this Forum. I verified that is phone number is still good and that he has them in stock. Also see msg 52021 (posted over three years ago).
Aren't there screw caps that pop off to expose the phillips screw head? Check out the "Door Check" photos in the photo section of this groups website.
He is also now making a rod that goes from the upper corner of the door to the coach's outside wall, that provides a hard limit to prevent damage when a hard wind gust tries to "tear off the door" (my words).

Again I am posting a note from Russ Cederholm. He is the maker of the excellent stainless steel replacement Door Checks:
Herb.. Now that I am in Florida I thought I would see if anyone needed to repair their door with the new S/S door check I came up with. I have been through over 500 now without any problems. So if there are any other owners that need one, please pass on the information.
Photos can be found in the "Door Check (Door Limit)" album in the Photos section of the CCO website.

Thanks
