Rear mud flap removable

One thing to consider before removing the rear mud flap are your leveling jacks. If you have hydraulic jacks with the large foot pads you may want to reconsider. Many times when you lower the jacks into loose gravel you pick up gravel on the top side of the cupped pads.
As you drive down the road the gravel will (over time) bounce out of the pads and the toad is vulnerable.

I removed mine over three years ago. No problems whatsoever. I believe (not the same as proving) I gained a slight improvement in mileage - maybe 0.5. As for "stuff" that collects on the jacks pads, the only way I have ever been able to remove it is by hand. These rigs simply don't bounce around like that - at least not where I drive ours. Not to say something can't fall off but I have no evidence of any towed damage from removing the mud flap from anything. The car gets no dirtier, windshield in the original, etc. That's with over 40,000 miles of exposure.
As has been posted before, the CC engineers apparently didn't see any value to the mud flaps but the marketing folks felt that big CC logo and name was too good let go. Before removal I saw drivers behind me flinch from the sun and light reflections off that big polished stainless plate into their eyes. A good reason to get rid of it right there IMO.

At the time we ordered our coach, CC was recommending that if you were going to Alaska and had a flap, to remove it.

It was my understanding that when a object hits the flap, it drops down and bounces back up and into the toad. I have always thought with a side radiator, that the flap would also restrict the movement of hot air from under the coach. In 04 our son made a grill for the engine access door. He copies the radiator grill pattern. It was cut with a water jet [ do not know its real name]. If I pull into a rest area , leave the engine running, the hot air is really coming out of the grill.
