LP Gas Problem

Yahoo Message Number: 84862
This morning I woke to find the red failure indicator light for LP was on that controls the water heater. Now, later this evening, as we tried to use the stove, it won't ignite either. Any ideas or suggestions of what to look for in a repair? Thank you!

when our battery disconnect switch is in the "on" position, meaning no battery power to the coach and we're not hooked to shore power, we always have to reset the LP detector under the refrigerator before propane will again flow.

PS. I also read on another forum that there may be a solenoid valve outside near the propane tank that could fail, but we've never had to go that far.

Make sure your propane leak detector is on. With the unit being located along the floor, it is easy to hit the switch and turn it off. If the detector is off, you will not get propane. Look for a 3x5 inch panel low along the floor. If it is on, there will be a flashing green light.

Our detector is located under the refer.

Thank you to Kevin Waite and everyone who has responded so quickly to assist me with the LP problem. All of you who responded were correct in your diagnosis of the problem. The green flashing light on the LP detector was on, so I "assumed" the detector was working - when actually it had malfunctioned for some reason and shut off the LP to the coach.

After speaking late last night to Kevin he advised me to turn off the detector, wait a minute, and then turn it back on to see if it resets itself. It worked, and instantly I had LP again. Still uncertain as to why the detector malfunctioned (other than age since the coach is a 2000), but at this time it is still working properly. I still may need to replace the detector if it should malfunction again.
I am very appreciative of all the assistance!

My understanding is that the detector is rated for a five year life. You may be approaching its final days.

Make sure your LP detector is on, for this device controls the shut off valve at the tank. I would suggest an technician to check your LP system if not the detector.
