White or black smoke? Have you adjusted the air shutter? It's an easy fix.

White = unburnt fuel. Open the air shutter some and ee if that helps.

The last time I had white smoke was because air was getting into the fuel lines. So you might check that. Also Hydro hot is a touchy animal. Techs have to trouble shoot it and make first attempt repairs. Then let it run under normal conditions, which may take an over night stay as the darn things act one way at day time temperature and conditions and another way at night. The only thing I have noticed over the years is no one carries a sniffer with them to get the air mixture right. Most of them just measure the out let water temp and look at the exhaust. Depending on how the mixture is set is how the exhaust smells to me. None of the techs pick-up on this in my experience! Its an art, and lot of techs aren't good at art!!!
