On the subject of Inverters. Can RC7 be adapted to work with...

Following the posts on residential fridges and inverters, I see that some have gone with the inverter I'm looking to add to our coach. Early research phase, so please execuse this question if it is stupid. (Is not my first, won't be my last:)!)
Can the RC7 remote control be adapated to work with other inverters? I'm looking at the Magnum MS2800 PSW for our coach. See they sell remote panels, and optional battery temp monitors, and more advance remote panels with Auto Gen Start. Just wondering if the RC7 should be removed and bundled to sell with the Xantrex, or if it can be somehow retained?
Note: I sent George a PM on which way I was going with the battery bank. For our expected usage, I think the 800AH of four Lifeline L16's will cover us well. Ordered (Thanks Tom - A real gent.) and will pick them up on Thursday. Got the CAT Maint Free 8D chassis battery today.

Smitty Unless the RC7 is a Universal controller-which I would doubt, you are basically asking the same question as will my Sony Remote work on a Samsung TV, and I think you know the answer to that.

Now Ron - My living room Sony and bedroom Samsung TV's both do work off of the same remote. Of course I admit that after I've asked her to change the channels three to four times - she gets a bit ticked...
So, doubt I'll ask her to just jog outside in the rain to change things for me in the battery compartment:)!
It is always good to hope, and I did... Will now research the right remote and auto generator start options to go with this...

Bundle the RC7GS with your inverter to sell. You'll need the Magnum controller.
The good thing is that Magnum uses the same phone cord for connectivity so you won't have to pull a new cable. Your new setup will be very nice. You'll really be happy when you add solar.

As George said, you will need the Magnum controller. I find it nicer to use than the RC7. There are two models of the Magnum controllers, the lower end one ME-RC is what I have, the advanced one is ME-ARC has additional features, check the Magnum website. Don't forget the Auto Generator Start which is a seperate module if you want that feature. You will need a faceplate made to coverup the gap in the Country Coach panel over the door, where the RC7 is now on your coach, the magnum controller (remote) is slightly smaller and will leave a gap. Premier Motorcoach in Tucson had some nice laser cut "adapter panels" fabricated. I added 400w of solar at the same time, haven't had much time with it to see how well the solar works in real conditions. My solar controller is below the TV in the bedroom with the slide/floor heat controls. Premier Motorcoach did my Samsung, Inverter, Solar installation. Very nicely done.
