Power managment

We're in a campground with very suspect electricity supply. (Too many rv's using too much power for heaters). We try to manage our power use by mentally adding the amps we are using. No worries. It's a good habit to get into.
But the one thing we don't know is when the hot water heater is using power. Has anyone got an idea on how we can install some sort of light that comes on when the water heater comes on.
