Residential Refrigerator Noise

Yahoo Message Number: 89595
We are considering replacing our Norcold refrigeratior with a Samsung residential unit. We have a couple of questions.

1. Since the refrigerator is so close to the sleeping area we were concerned about noise from the compressor or condenser fan disturbing our sleep. A steady hum is one thing but an on/off noise can really disturb sleep.

2. We have a 2000 watt Magnum pure sine wave inverter, 6 golf cart batteries and 800 watts of solar. Currently we only use 10 to 25% of battery capacity at night. How much more do you think I would use per night?

Thank You

I can only answer your first question, we do not hear any sounds from our Samsung. The air conditioner above our bed is the noise in our bedroom when it cycles.

Same is true for the Samsung to the point that early on with it installed, I'd check the temp to make sure it was actually working! I am so grateful to know that first of all we're safe, and secondly, our food and drinks are cold!!! I should say that we don't boondock very often however. Good luck.

Our Samsung is very quiet. Once in awhile I hear the icemaker dumping cubes.

We had our "Notcold" replaced with a Samsung. Fountain RV in Lakeland FL did a great job. Best thing we ever did. Except for occasional muted ice maker sounds, the only way you know it's running is to open it to see if the lights are on.
