Driving lights

Without going into too much detail my Xenon light replacements have now been sorted. (They were installed upside down). The wiring was changed as well because that was wrong. However I now have low beam lights on all the time, I am convinced that this was not the case before, however I am not sure especially as due to the bad install the lights were nigh on useless anyway. But dockers on the RoRo ferries never used to moan at my lights when they were directing me on board for loading. (Cross English channel to France and/or down through Biscay to Spain) They do now!
So to the stupid question. Can others with 2008 Allures say if their front low beam lights are on permanently when ever the ignition is on?
