Passenger side fuel backwash

Anyone have a problem with backwash when filling the fuel tank, have not noticed it on the drivers side as much as the passenger side fill spigot. Even when the tank is half empty and the nozzle set on lowest fill setting it backs up and start splashing out.

I had a similar problem after I purchased the coach a year and a half ago. It was caused by the fuel fill and vent hose being too long allowing a sag where fuel accumulated. So it would always spit fuel and shut off the nozzle because there was no way for the displaced air to escape while filling the tank. You can solve it by opening the drivers side fuel cap each time you fill from the passenger side, but then you need to remember to replace both caps and lock both doors. What I did is shorten both the fuel and the vent hose (5 to 6 inches ) at the fill point to eliminate the sag in the lines and now there is no place for the fuel to pool. It was easy to do and it solved the problem. Make sure you only shorten it the minimum needed.
You also may be able to physically adjust both hoses to eliminate the sags, in which case you won't need to shorten the hose. I couldn't do that.

Mine does it if the nozzle is pushed in all the way. Pull it about 3/4 of the way out and it should not backup.

Remove both fuel caps prior to filling-up and that might solve your problem. I had the same backwash issue and that is how I solved the problem.

I found the metal vent tube corroded/blocked on the DS of the tank. Replaced the tube and have had no problems since.
