hydro hot

Hello fellow Cc family!

O.k.. So we bought our CC last year. (first coach ever) We bought a gorgeous '99 Affinity. Lots of bells n whistles. N more than we really bargained for! We had a chance to use it last summer a bit, and then family matters kept us from really using it as we planned. So, we have never used it in cold weather. We always looked at the Hydro Hot (Wabasto type) and thought, oh, we don't need to learn how to use that now, it's summer. Well, we are wanting to take our coach to Vegas for a convention we are attending. And, now it's cold. So, my hubby has learned how to make the Wabasto heat up, and it circulates the water, but we cannot get the fans to turn on in the coach. The fan motor lights do not turn on. Neither does the Wabasto switch, but it heats up. I don't know if we are doing something wrong or have a problem. Probably user error. Kay Neubauer Texas

On my 99 Magna, you need to set the thermostat to furnace for both zones to get the blowers to run bedroom (zone 2) and main cabin (zone 1) The wabasco works great, we are in MN and I use it in the winter when working in the coach

Well, we had the thermostat on "heat" at the thermostat that runs the air cond. But I think we possibly have a furnace thermostat that we don't know where it is yet!! Ha!! I guess I don't know WHAT we have for heat!! I sure can get the "air" to run! We are normally HOT.
If I were in Minn, yup, I would have figured this out by now!! Need more ideas---- So my thermostat controls the air and heat is above the dash, a little white box like in the house. Then the big flat panel in the front, big black panel, has fan for galley and l.r.
Then the bedroom panel with has curb and flood lites, fans and heat control buttons. Allan had read somewhere to hold the Webasto button down for 30 sec to start. And it warmed up. But that is all. Kay

On mine, the heat pump setting on the thermostat runs the roof heat, their is also a furnace option that runs the wabasco and forced air dials you show in your pics

o.k. I wonder if there is a setting on the heat pump controls that I have missed. We have not found a furnace thermostat yet. You did mean that the furnace option is IN the thermostat that controls the air/heat pump? So far, have not been able to get the forced air to blow

Yes, the same thermostat, as you cycle thru the modes, a furnace option should be their. If I recall right you need to start the wabasco in the bedroom first to see the option

On our 99 Magna you had to turn on two switches in the bedroom to get the furnace to show up on the thermostat. Once you had set the thermostat to furnace then you turned on 1, 2 or all 3 furnace fans, 2 were on the front dash area and the bedroom fan was in the rear. When you are running the Wabasto to heat you are also heating your domestic hot water so no need for the electric or gas to be on. Also, your engine is being warmed along with your storage bays. Warning....once you heat your coach with the Wabasto you will probably not want to heat it any other way!
