Engine Warning light

Yahoo Message Number: 92793
2005 County Coach Intigue - Earlier today while checking in at the campground that we're staying at the engine warning light came on while parked outside the office. The Silverleaf display had the following message.

Engine Diagnostics

ID FMI N Description

84 2 1 Invalid VEH SPD Signal

ABS

0 0 0 NO Code

Once I put the Allison transmission in drive, it showed a 1 instead of the usual 5.
Finally, once we were parked we were unable to get the HWH Leveling System to level the coach either in the automatic or manual.
Any idea what the engine code means and is it related to the HWH System? Might there be a small leak in the system that is preventing the system from leveling and maybe restricting the transmission to first gear only. As we were arriving to the park, we haven't try to take it back on the road yet.

Thanks for any input.

Chuck

Found this on Cummins forum: http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/89-93-powertrain/457550-just-replaced-vehicle-speed-sensor-still-acting-up.html VSS Sensor problem. Says wires can vibrate loose or may need new VSS. Are you near a Cummins repair facility? Found this on a "Dr Cummins" web page: This fault 241 is set active when the ECM loses a vehicle speed signal when other engine conditions indicate the vehicle is moving. The fault can also become active if there is a series of clutch, service brake or throttle movements with no vehicle movement. The fault is set inactive when the ECM receives a vehicle speed signal greater than zero, The vehicle speed sensor is located in the rear of the vehicle transmission. CODE REASON EFFECT Fault Code: 241 PID: P084
SPN: 84
FMI: 2/2
LAMP: Amber
SRT:

Wheel-Based Vehicle Speed - Data Erratic, Intermittent or Incorrect. The ECM lost the vehicle speed signal.
Engine speed limited to Maximum Engine Speed without VSS parameter value.Cruise control, Gear-Down Protection, and Road Speed Governor will not work.

one more thing. On our 2004 Allure, to level the coach with HWH, the transmission must be in neutral, the engine off and the parking brake set.

I think your engine needs to be running in order to start the leveling sequence. My '04 Allure was that way as is my ;03 Magna.

George, on our Allure, the engine does not have to be running but the key has to be "on". We have a reset button that will allow levelling with the key in the on position. It does level more quickly if the engine is on, especially if we have been in one spot for awhile.
