Two New Questions - Tire Pressure Reply

Jo and Mary, I think I can give you some insight into the correct tire pressure issue. First CC fills the tires to 120lbs coming out of the factory. This was true on our 2001 32' Allure and I was told by factory personnel the 120lbs is where they set all tire pressures. I have learned by attending the FMCA RVSEF Seminars (formerly AweighWeGo) that the only way to determine what your tire pressures should be is to have your coach weighed when it is loaded the way you normally travel. Then there is a table put out by the tire manfacturer-Toyo in the case of our coaches- that will give you the correct pressures based on your individual wheel weights. In our coach we are set at 90lbs on all wheels. dThe SmartTire is programed using this pressure. Yes the readings do change when you're driving due to the changes in the tire temperatures. Another thing you want to be aware of that you may get high temperature readings on the inside rear tires when in fact it is not the tires but the steel rims that have heated up due to frequent use of the service brakes. We have had this happen on several occasions when traveling downgrade and the PacBrake isnt adequate, therefore the service brakes are used.
