I would be very cautious about using a reusable filter.
For those of you that cross read on other boards. Many of you may be aware of the Cummins IRV2 section, where Spike45 (Gary) shares his knowledge. Retired from Cummins, and provides common sense advise.
Suggest that when it comes to filters, CAT, Detroit, Etc. - are all relative to Cummins based knowledge.
Worth popping over and doing a search on Filters or Spike45 under the Cummins section, and you will find that Spike45/Gary strongly encourages the avoidance of these filters. And interestingly, he also recommends not doing more Air Cleaner filter changes then actually needed. Either due to restriction, or age. Dusting is always a risk, when swapping our Air Filters.
Lots of $$ for an engine, vs a quality air filter every few years. IMO, just not worth the risk. If you feel you need for air flow, stay with a quality filter, and see if you can find a larger canister. But also IMO, CC did a good job on right sizing the air canisters for the engine size in their rigs. Best to all, Smitty 04 Allure 31017
