Drivers side over-the-road blower not working

Yahoo Message Number: 94409
I have a 2001 CC MAGNA and the over the road A/C and heating vents stopped working. The passenger side blows like a hurricane. I have check the fuse and switch and they seem to work fine. I have talked with several other CC owners and they have never lost just the drivers side.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fixe it?

Make sure the ducting did not disconnect, this happened to me.
In my case, running out the generator and seeing the duct work hanging was obvious.

I don't have a CC yet but try to help. Do you have separate fan controls for driver and passenger? I ask because you state the passenger "blows like a hurricane" sounds like a blockage that is forcing all the air out the passenger vents.

If your fans are working properly, I would say you have a vacuum problem for your controls keeping the vacuum motors from working properly. The easiest thing to check is the vacuum pump and lines that are located inside, in the front left compartment. You will see a vacuum reservoir the size of a softball with a line in and one out. Make sure they are connected. The supply line goes to a vacuum pump mounted on the square tube on the inside left of that compartment. When you turn the ignition key to "on" the pump will normally run for a short time to fill the reservoir for your controls. That pump may have failed, blown a fuse has a bad ground or a line disconnected. Turn the key"on", disconnect the vacuum line and the pump should run non stop. If the pump does not run, check the leads to see if you have power there. If you determine the pump is at fault, I think that is a Ford part, and should be available at NAPA, Auto Zone or your choice. If you recently had work done, maybe a hose got pulled off. If that's the case, with the ignition "on" you should hear a hissing noise. Keep the engine "off" to keep the noise down for your troubleshooting.

The default position if the vacuum fails is defrost. A one sided discharge that he mentions is most likely a blockage or a duct has come loose.

When I my vacuum pump failed a few years ago in Durango Colorado, the Ford dealer wanted 3 times the amount I paid for the pump from CC. TWI 2004 intrigue 11731

In the front right side of dash open up and look for the small plastic tubes that go to the heater/cooler exchanger to see if one or more of the tubes have fallen off. If you have the documentation manual you can look and find the colore code and location to put the tubes back on.
Hope this helps.
