Engine Warmer

Friends Called and want to go RV "Kamping" tonight in Oregon. Got down to mid-20's last night in Portland. So I had the Hydronic Heating set at 45 deg. Was concerned about engine warmth this morning if we go today. It is 45 deg outside rigth now at 10:00 am. I was going to plug in the Engine Block Heater. I checked the anaolg and Silveleaf temp 1st. It says 137 deg. So I surmise that the Hydronic Heating also heats the engine coolant too. I have the Central Heating Control and Interior Heat Exchange switches on control panel ON.. Guess I should have read the manual closer AGAIN.

The Hurricane hydronic, at least, is a two-way system. When driving, the hot coolant water from the engine is used to provide the heat for the coach, and when set up for the night, with the deisel burner running, there is a loop that goes thru the engine, keeping it warm. We have spent the night in 20 degree weather, and started the enging right up in the morning, no problem.

Thanks Bill for the info. It would be nice to have a shut off valve to the engine. SO it did not have to be heated by the Hydronic Heating, i fyou did not want it to.. Save a little energy not needed at times........
