Fan Controller Remote Switch

Yahoo Message Number: 94912
Hi - I know some here have installed a switch in series with the fan controller fuse (7.5a) to allow running the fan constantly via switch near driver area. I'd like to do this as well. I notice on my fuse legend the fan controller fuse position is also marked as fuel heater.
I'm gathering this fuse powers both the fan controller and fuel heater.
Its amperage seems a bit small for a heating element. Can anyone provide a bit more insight on the fuel heater and whether this is even an issue? Pulling the fuse does, indeed, cause the fan to go into high. Many thanks in advance for any information you all can provide.

Scott, I installed the by-pass switch on my 05 Inspire with no problems. I only switch to by-pass occationally when pulling a steep grade in the summer or for a quicker turbo cool down when pulling off an interstate. I figured the fuel heater function would only come into effect on a cold engine when I don't use the by-pass switch anyway.
I got my switch from Radio Shack. It fits perfect in the control panel and even lights up when I'm in by-pass mode.
The wiring was quite straight forward. Entire install takes about 1.5 hours.
Good Luck,
RJ

RJ - I too figured the fuel heater wouldn't be a factor in hot weather.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Wouldn't be using this with a cold engine and/or cold weather.

If you newly installed switch were left off during engine warmup, the fuel heater would still be operable.
