Bad Air Ride Valve

For those of you that have had one go bad while you were driving..
What was the results of the coach when it went bad? I mean what did it, (The coach) do or react that you knew something was wrong?
Cause I think I just had one go bad on me and I can not get it fixed until thursday.

If the ride height valve has failed the coach will usually sag either on the left rear or right rear or be low in the front. II it usually easy to spot just standing off an looking at the overall attitude of the coach. Often the wheels will rub the fender wells on the affected side and passing motorists will alert you to the problem.
Also I have had the HWH controller issue an alarm and resetting it will only last a couple of minutes. if you decide that you have a bad ride height valve there are many posts on the group that address a work around that will allow you to drive the coach for miles and miles until you can get it fixed. if you cannot find any of them email me directly and I will walk you through the process.

Left, rear ride height valve failed. That corner dropped but not all the way to the bump stop as I have a tag axle coach. With left rear down front right was up. Ride was awful and handling was bad.

In my case the coach was parked and the unit just leaned over partially. I used the HWH controls to manually level the coach, pulled the fuse to freeze the setting and drove back to Junction City to have the repairs made. CC was full up in 2007 so Larry Sherwood called Carrier and sons and they replaced the bad valve. Later on Bob Vinson re-calibrated the valve for me as a favor after regular working hours at CC. Those were the good old days. Thanks again, to Larry Sherwood, Doug Rutherford and Chris Snyder!. Many years later.

I drove with a leaking air valve, not to realize it was leaking. It would leak only with 90 + lbs. when driving the compressor would increase its volume and run continuous to keep up with the leak. I would hear the leak when stopping the CC. It turned out I had two rear air height valves lacking. I replaced the valve on port side and drove the unit 600 miles. She drove fine but the compressor was compensating for the starboard side leaking. She handled as normal, but when parked the leaking valve would lower the air bag. I now just received my starboard valve $100 and 30 minutes to install.
Make sure you support the rear axle with blocks or stands, the bags will deflate all the way to the lowest point Hope this will answer your question
