Sumitomo Tires

Would like any feedback on anyone running Sumitomo Tires. The coach I just bought has them, and the previous owner swears by them. I have an '02 Intrigue running 12r/22.5's. Have 160 miles on these tires so far and very very smooth ride, but eight years old and in need of new feet. Much cheaper than the Michelins, and reported much better ride from previous owner. Anyone out there with any data on these Japanese manufactured tires?

I have them on the drive and tag axles on my 04 Intrigue. My tire dealer was very strong in his recommendation for them. He says his experience has been quite good and they are much less expensive than others. He is a major big tire dealer. So far my experience has been great. Smooth ride and they hold air well.

I just purchased 6 of the ST 727 Sumitomo 12r/22.5 to replace my nine year old Toyo's. We have only taken one trip (about 700 miles round trip) but I am very happy with the ride and handling so far. My out the door price was $3018 ( mounted, balanced and installed ). FMCA quoted me $700 per tire for Michelin 12r/22.5 That was just for the tire. Time will tell, but so far so good.

I just ordered a full set of these for my coach. My local tire dealer said they were a premium tire manufacturer and the tires were of high quality. He said the biggest problem is quantities are limited after the earth quake and tidal wave that had hit Japan.
It will take 1 to 2 weeks for my tires to arrive.
Although this should make the manufacturing date more recent.
I went with the ST 778 long haul tire. It is their premium steer tire. Overkill for drive tires, but peace of mind is worth the extra.
The dealer mentioned the use of " balance beads" for balancing tires. Some long haul truckers use them.
Has onyone ever tried these?

I have to decide if I want to give them a try. He would take them out for free if I decided they were not for me.

I've heard about the beads, but went with Centramatics instead. Very pleased with the results on two CC so far.

X's 2 on Centramatics. Steer, Drive & Tag. I went ahead and had all tires, yeah the Drive too, balanced too.

I had these on my lMonaco and were very pleased, however if I remember they are now produced in China not Japan, my tire guy said he used them on hay haulers and were getting doing great
