Access To Rear View Camera 2000 Magna

Yahoo Message Number: 96385
I've searched and can't find the answer to how to get to the rear view camera. No slide in the bedroom so the rear wall of the coach has the bed, 'headboard', mirror, and overhead cabinets with the over the road a/c blower.
From measuring the height of the camera from the outside it appears the camera is behind the mirror. Is this correct? If so, do I just remove the screws from the wood frame around the mirror to get the mirror off the wall? Anything else I need to know?

Try looking in the over the mirror cabinet, I think you will find a small covered access plate that has two screws located in the left cab and two in the right cab . it will then slide into one Of the cabinets. This will expose the camera.

As I remember on mine the louverd panel over the bed is the access point.

In our 99 Magna we had shelves in the overhead cabinet on either side of the "over the road fan" box. Once we removed a shelf from one side we could remover the side panel revealing the fan and the camera box.

Good luck

The camera access in the 2000 Magna is behind the mirror. Remove frame screws. You may have to cut a hole in the panel behind. The bad part is that to replace the camera you have to go into the fiberglass body on the outside. We were lucky to find a replacement so we didn't have to replace the monitor unit but it is only black and white.

When we replaced the camera, we ended up cutting a hole behind the mirror. We have an AC unit in the back center, and did not try to disassemble the cabinets in either side of the AC. I have a few pictures if you would like to see, but none of the hole I cut. You need to be careful when you cut as there is a AC line that runs a cross the cut area.

Thanks to all for your help. Even had a phone call confirming the location of the camera behind the mirror.
I'm going to have to live without the camera until Fall when I get settled in an area long enough to attack this task.
