Electrical, generator, battery problems

Yahoo Message Number: 97167
Hi All,

I hope everyone had a great summer and enjoyed the RV life.
We have several problems and would like help. We took our RV to Peterson to repair an engine oil leak.
It was leaking again, so we took it back. They said it was a transmission line connection leak. When we returned, our electrical system on the house would flash on for a moment then die. We have still have it plugged in and no electrical. The generator does not work, but it did prior to the visit to Peterson as did the electrical. The batteries are also dead. Mino checked the fuses in the electrical panel. Alls well. As you can tell we need help.

Check obvious areas first.
1.Maybe they inadvertently loosed a ground.
2. Check fuses and circuit breakers.

There has to be an explanation for a system shut down of this magnitude.

You might try to locate the possible two 300A Class T fuses in the 12v system. On my rig they are described in the electrical schematics and located one in the battery tray compartment and one in the inverter compartment. Then test them to see if one has blown. There are lots of different coaches built between 1989 and 2010 so a description of your rig might gain further ideas.

Just for your info the generator switch was flipped.
FYI turning off the house battery will save the battery when just sitting like in service for a few days.
