What Transmission do I have in my 400 Cummins 2003 Intrigue and number of quarts of fluid? Which fluid should I use also? I know it's an Allison but which one. Getting ready to change fluid and filter.

Gary, Our 2002 Intrigue #11329, has the MH3000 Allison. I've only used the factory fluid,(transynd synthetic) around 4 gallons with filters. Measure depth of pan to determine 2" or 4" deep filters. Service every 5 Years or 150k miles......Skip

Gary, You have an Allison 3000 MH, when Country Coach installed the transmission during manufacturing during the time yours was produced they were probably still using DEXRON III transmission fluid. I recommend you change over to TRANSYND Synthetic if this has not already occurred.

The 3000 MH is manufactured with either a 2" sump or a 4" sump. The refill capacity of the 2" is 10.5 quarts, the 4" is 19 quarts.

The initial fill for a 2" was 19 quarts, the 4" was 26 quarts.

Your manual should give you the Ser. No. of your Allison or you'll find a nameplate on the side of the Allison. Call Allison and obtain which sump you have.

We had our coach delivered at the factory with Dexron in the transmission.
In order to get the 5 year

extended warranty on the transmission I had to pay $400.00 to get the transmission flushed and the

system decontaminated and Transynd installed. Starting on Jan 1 2004 aLL CC WERE DELIVERED WITH

TRANSYND IN THE TRANSMISSION AND ITS COOLING SYSTEM. Gary who use to give the Home Coming

Seminars in Eugene and Albany use to stress the advantages of transynd.
Longer life of the

transmission, extended change intervals, always use the gold transmission filters. Operating temps

were higher on the transmission when CC stepped up from the 350/330 engines, to the 370/400/425

with higher operating temps to gain performance and lower emmissions and the coaches weights

increased dramatically with the 40 ft with 4 slides and the 42' with three slides. I attribute my

transmission staying together when the radiator failed and the transmission was contaminated with

engine coolant to the transynd in 2008. .TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731
