Hydra hot

Folks, headed to Wisconsin from FL (I know, wrong way for most folks) and will likely need the use of my hydra hot heater. Bought this coach in FL, and the previous owner never used it. The system was serviced by the previous owner earlier this year. The problem is he didn't know how to operate it, and there are no manuals for it. Anyone have a "Cliffs notes" version of how to use it? Seems confusing with two on off switches, two fan controls, and a setting on the thermostat. Wondering what the low, med, high fan switches are for if it is controlled by the thermostat. Any help appreciated!
Also, any suggestions on routes to avoid or where to stay along the way from the Space Coast of FL to Kenosha, WI greatly appreciated.

Ron,

I think that you don't have the Hydro Hot system. CC put the Hurricane system in most coaches before 2004.

Hi Ron, It's a fairly simple system, you turn on the 2 switches, one on the unit in the compartment and the one on the remote over the entrance door. On the thermostat, select zone 1 then with the mode switch select "FURNACE" then set the temp. Repeat this for zone 2. If all is well the hurricane should work.

Anyone know what the combustion air intake vent is that must be open for operation? There is a round white disc next to the Hurricane that appears to be able to be opened or closed, but screw on bottom is rusted. Do I have to open this before operation? I fired it up tonight with the bay door open, and it worked great!

Ron.........Yes, that is the combustion air intake point. It needs to be open a couple of turns at least. Because that compartment is air tight, once the bay door is closed, that is the sole point where combustion air can enter and get to the ?burner.

They need air. The control are talking about is an air mixture. It should go to an opening in the bottom of the floor. Check under the coach and look if it is open. Some units had a "sock" on them that get plugged up. I have seen one unit with no air hole cut in the floor.
