97 Magna possible purchase

Looking at possible purchase of a 97 Magna with 97k miles with a series 40 Detroit, interior very very good condition.
Hope the group can give advise on the following concerns/questions:

a) anyone know someone in the Sioux Falls/Marshall Minn. area to take a look? member or r/v repair person.

b)what concerns should I have re the 330 Detroit with 97k miles?

c)coach has spent its life in Minn. with salty roads in winter Gillig Chassis----any advise/ comments?

We have a 1998 Magna with 101,000 orig miles. One owner until we purchased.. It is awesome. No issues and it drives like a dream.

96 Magna 38' 121,000 miles. 2nd owner. Drives like a dream. Only minor ordinary problems encountered.
Great coach with lots of scenery left to see.

My Gillig rides and handles great.

Go underneath the rig to see if any major corrosion. Open compartments will be driver side front, LP Tank, as well as engine bay and front axle.

The rest of the compartments are usually sealed at the bottom.

Minnesota does put more salt on roads than on popcorn.
I don't know about the Magna & Gillig chassis, but my 1998 Intrigue (first year of the DynoMax chassis) spent its entire life in MN (I am the second owner) and even though exposure to salted roads was very limited it still rusted out almost all of the structural tube steel for the entire body. I replaced from front to back the 1.5 inch square tubing on both sides under the storage bays, the battery tray, underneath the LP tank and underneath the generator last summer. I also had to re-install the steps after they fell out when the steel they were mounted to rusted away, and rebuild all of the wheel wells due to rust. The water tank supports will be next, before it falls through to the street.

Very disappointing that what was at one time a quarter-million dollar coach had absolutely zero rustproofing or corrosion resistance anywhere on the entire chassis.
