Koni Shocks for 36-Foot Intrigue "02

I'm looking for FRONT shock information specific to the 36-foot Intrigue 2002. The coach originally came with Koni shocks and the ride was great until the shocks wore out. So I replaced them with RoadKing shocks that are supposed to be top-of-the-line. Even though Lonnie of RoadKing took the shocks back and tweaked the design of the new shocks twice I have never gotten a ride as good as the original Koni shocks. Road dips almost bottom us out and we bounce and porpoise quite a bit.
 So I'm looking to go back to Koni. Country Coach sells new Koni red adjustable shocks for the front of the 36-foot Intrigue for about $260 each but of course they won't provide me with the Koni part number. And If I go to the Koni website, they allow inputs of coach make and model and for the Country Coach Intrigue with the Neway IFS suspension they call out a shock by part number ... specifically 881641SP3 for $147 each. But they don't seem to differentiate between the various Intrigue lengths and there is a significant difference between the Intrigue 36-foot and the 40-foot and the 42-foot relative to wheel base, front to rear weight ratio, etc.
 So I am looking for inputs and comments about Koni FRONT shocks specifically for the 36-FOOT Intrigue with Neway independent front suspension (IFS).

Steve, the red shock is the SP-3 and I have a set on my 42' Allure and am very pleased with them at the #4 firmest setting (5 is most firm).

I called Koni in Kentucky and talked with their tech folks and they gave me the shock # I needed. I bought direct from Koni.

Shocks in general do not come in a lot of weight ratings. I read somewhere  that 4000 and 7000 lbs. are typical for a manufacturer. They are not a weight  baring member of the suspension components. Their full name 'shock absorbers'  tell what their function is. They are there to absorb a lot of the energy  built up in the air bags/springs during their expansion and compression. The  idea is to get rid of the energy that would otherwise cause the suspension to  bounce up and down through a couple of cycles as the energy slowly  dispersed.
 Shock absorber manufactures tout a number of internal designs to accomplish  the job. Some are adjustable and some are better than others but only  marginally. Shocks can affect the amount of up and down motion with each bump  but can not prevent the resounding bang when the suspension bottoms out. Usually  this is a job for the air bags and if it is happening a lot then the chances are  that the ride height needs to be adjusted.
 Another function of the shock is to prevent the suspension from pulling the  air bags off their mounts should it drop into a deep hole. For this reason the  length of the shock is important.
 The shock absorber industry is highly competitive. The bulk of the product  is sold to vehicle manufactures such as Country Coach. Part of remaining  competitive is that virtually all of the companies sell their shocks to the  manufacturer minus any warrantees. Many CC owners of new coaches were caught off  guard when they found out that the shocks were not covered by the lifetime  warrantee. That warrantee is only valid for the original owner so be careful  where you by the shocks.

The koni part number is the same for my 36 ft Inspire.
Just ordered a pair and will report back on the improvement...I hope.
