Hesitation on the road

Today, I was coming home from a 2 hour trip and within a half hour of getting on the road at speeds of around 60 mph, I experienced a hesitation that was very brief. I purchased the coach 9 months ago and drove around 4k miles with it and never experienced it before. It behaved as though it was out of gas, though it difficult to come to that conclusion because the hesitation was so brief. I also questioned the tranny, but it does shift ok. The last 20 minutes were uneventful, but I question if it would have reoccurred if I went further. The gas tank is a little less tha half full and had no prior with this problem with the same gas.

Has anyone experienced this hesitation or have an idea what could cause it?

Mine will sometimes "hesitate" right around 62 mph if I have the cruise control on and encounter a slight grade. It downshifts momentarily to 5th then right back to 6th and back to 5th, etc.  If the grade is more pronounced it will stay in 5th to maintain the speed. Placing the transmission in "Econ" solves the hesitation problem. It only happens in the 58-64 mph range, and only with a slow transition from level to slight climb.  Above 65 or below 55 it never does it. I had it checked out by Allison shop and they said everything was normal

It never did occur less than 50 mph, but grade did not matter.  When it first occurred I had the cruise on and then turned it off-it still did it.  I had the fuel filter replaced 6 mos/3k miles ago.

This happened to me while going down the road several years ago in my Intrigue. Turned out it was loose battery cables. The bumps in the road turned out to be just enough to break the connection every now and then. Hopefully thats all it is.

I had a similar situation that lasted for well over a year and lots of dollars.......but ended up as a really easy fix.
I would be driving along and the tack and speedometer would go to "zero" for about a second or two...at the most.  Then the engine would renew normal operation.  This hesitation would occur for two to four times during an 8 hour drive.  A couple of times it actually stopped the engine which required restarting.
 After several different shop visits out east and south.....even at Cat Dealers.....Replaced a couple of relays, checked wiring harnesses, etc.,etc.  lots of $$$ at a cat dealer.

While visiting relatives in Sacramento, I ran out of patience and drove up to the factory.  One of the techs said, "I remember (14 years ago) building your coach, I'll fix it"............ !!!  Within a couple of hours he announced, I fixed it!!!  He said that he thought that his volt meter had done bad........he took apart the "emergency stop" button in the engine compartment and it looked brand new on the inside, but the meter showed only an 18percent continuity.  So he thought that his meter was broken.  Checked again........ He thoroughly cleaned all the contacts and now, one year later not one hesitation....

It's the little things that can bite you!!!!!

My coach had a cough every once and a while and slowly got worse. The Cummins computer records all of these events and when I took it in Cummins said it had a bad lift pump. Small leak sucking in air and that was from the low sulfur fuel we use now. The seals in the pump weren't made for it.
No problems since it was replaced.
