RV Registry Advice??

Yahoo Message Number: 99170
Hi - As previously mentioned, Jeannie and I are selling our coach. I was wondering if anyone here has used the RV Registry ( http://www.rvregistry.com/index.cfm )??  They are asking $385 for an indefinite length ad.  Buyers are also qualified to avoid an excessive amount of tire kickers.  If so might you share any comments, impressions and experiences with me.  The dope on our coach is here: http://www.muniac.com/Allure%204%20Sale/2006%20Allure%20430%20For%20Sale.html Many thanks and safe travels to one and all.

I'am just curious as to how they qualify a buyer ?  It's a web site available to anyone with a lap top.

Hey Scott,

IMHO it seems like a high price to pay up front for questionable results.
You might want to pose as a buyer of one of the coaches shown in their registry and see what they do to qualify you for their client.
Just a thought.

BTW, I am going to miss you around here after you sell. I have always enjoyed your posts. Best of luck and good fortune.

Most marketing organizations requiring dollars up front for selling services are IMHO,  of little value. I have no problems with commissions, since I made my living that way. It is performance based, meaning the unit has to sell before they collect. Pre-payment usually gives a company little incentive to improve your listing or sell your unit . . .
If you decide to proceed anyway, I second Daron's remarks on questioning how they "Pre-qualify." That has lots of meanings. In other words, what do they ask? You can check this out by calling as a customer to see what information they request, how are they pre-qualifying you other than name and address?  In addition, I would ask for a "sell-rate". How many advertised really sold and over what period of time. If they are legit, they will have those figures.
With all that, you should be able to determine if they are the company for you. I would be interested in the results since I have no experience with them. It would be nice to hear if this one works.

My two cents.
