looking to purchase

Yahoo Message Number: 99759
Hi- We are looking at a 2005 Country Coach Inspire 330 36 ft.  It has laminate floors and it looks like the one slide constantly scratches it.
Any advice? Concerns with this model/year?

Thanks,
Lauren

Lauren,

I own a 2005 CC Inspire 330 36' Siena. This is a solid coach. However there are many items you need to be aware of and have checked.
1) Tires, If they are more than 6 years old I would replace them.
2) Radiator, the original aluminum radiator was poorly designed which resulted in leaks developing. A copper & steel replacement radiator solves the problem. I would recommend checking to see if this has been done.
3) The original PTO, power take off, unit was a dry spline design. This results in excessive wear and early failure. A wet kit is available, if the coach hasn't been already converted. This is a relatively easy and not real expensive fix.
4) Make sure you take it for a considerable drive at major highway speeds. A common complaint is wandering, requiring constant steering wheel adjustments, and poor handling when semi trucks pass. Make Sure you test drive it under these conditions so you don't have any surprises after purchase. Many things can be done, adjustments and equipment, that can eliminate these issues.

5) service records and being able to talk to the previous owner will be a big help if available to you.
There are many other items I could discuss with you. However, these are the major items you should investigate prior to making any offer.
Regarding the floor, I have installed engineered hickory flooring in my coach. Major scratching should not be an issue depending on the total floor thickness. That being said, there are a few tricks that can be easily done to eliminate or at least minimize this problem.
I recommend you hire a qualified technician, such as Kevin Waite, to thoroughly inspect every component of the coach prior to purchase.

Good Luck,
