Koni red shock settings

Yahoo Message Number: 101019
Hello

Im removing the road king 3 inch shocks and putting the koni reds back on. The ride is just to harsh with the road kings.I have called road king three times and no one will call me back. They have to have the worst customer service. I had just as much hassle trying to buy the shocks. The reds were (5) 1/4 turns from full firm. Does anyone have recommendations for the settings. Front weighs 16,800 full of fuel. I am going for a smooth ride.
Thanks

That will depend on which Koni shocks you have. SP-1, SP-2, or the newest SP-3.
The generation will be stamped on the side of your shocks.

Call Koni

The last time I called they were well informed and critical of the shocks CC installed on the heavier coaches.

Mine don't say sp on them. they have the number 4006-90-2685. I sent another email to road king. I have yet to talk to Loni. He has been unavailable every time I have called since I first contacted them regarding buying shocks. The service is not what I got the first time I bought from them. Im wondering if he is no longers with them. When I did my first coach he was calling me back while at the trade shows and I had no problems. Now I cant seem to get by the kid that answers the phone and he allways says Loni is out of town and someone will call me back. I have a note into koni to identify the reds.

The Sp3 series are the newest version. I put Koni #881641sp3 on the front of my tag 40 Allure and I get no bouncing but a nice ride, and this includes a lot of Topes in Mexico. Talk to Koni first.

I also have the Koni sp-3 shocks on my 05 inspire. I get a nice ride and no bouncing. Mine are set at about 3/4 firmness.

Installed 2 or 2 1/2 inch Road King. I think it was L**who I spoke to and never received any satisfaction when I expressed my

dissatisfaction of ride.  Expressed  to L** that it was like riding on a park bench.

Ended up selling them on e-bay at $100 , happy to take them off.

Reinstalled Koni at soft setting which is how they come from factory.

On both my CC  I always used the next to the highest setting for the first few years and then had them cranked up all the way.  TWI 98 Allure 30255, 2004 Intrigue  11731
