Do You Have 4 8's?

I. Eyed help putting new 6V Lifeline 6CT batteries in my PS bay.

If you have one of the few all-electric CC's with 4-8D batteries, I would appreciate your help.  Mine has only two and are on a pull-out tray.  I want to put 6 new ones in that conveniently have the same footprint as my two big 8D's.  My concern, therefore, is not space, but weight.

An 8D weighs 165 lbs not including cables and connectors.  Four is 660 lbs that CC installed in your bay.  The 6-6 volts I want weigh 90 lbs each, or 540 lbs total. I can get all 6 of mine on one level; but I'm not confident the existing pull-out tray will safely support an additional 220 lbs.

What I need to know is how did the engineers design your rack, or whatever.  I presume they stacked them 2 over 2.  Does the whole rack slide out; or, is there a separate rack for each pair?  If there's an upper rack, how is it supported, that is, what's it attached to?

What I REALLY want is some good pix of a 4-8D install.  Could you take some and post, them here for all to, use or PM them as attachments.  Warning, I've tried taking photos of the equipment bays; and they are really dark.  Everything is black with no contrast colored items for scale.  Please use your flash, maybe supplemented by a strong LED work light.

I have 6 8s so the weight should not be a problem. I took a picture of the slide. Let me know if you want a picture of anything else.

Rod, thanks.  Wow, I had no idea they TRIPLED battery storage for the all-electric.  It appears, also, your bay is a third again wider than mine

It looks like CC supported over a half ton of batteries with 1/4" steel plates with angle turns on the bottom.  Is there more, such as is there anything supporting the rack on its vertical back side?  Would you please shoot a pix or two underneath to show how CC supported the angle turns of the steel plates?  For example, are there outriggers coming off the main rail that the plates bolt into?  Also, how are the support brackets that the plates bolt to attached to the outside edge of the coach (where the bay door hits)?

Shoot me an email jrodneyrobbins@... and I will respond with more pictures. My coach is not all electric but the battery configuration is the same as far as I know. The slides hold the weight well and they slide back and forth easy.
