Pines Refrigeration Unit Not Cooling While Driving

We swapped our stock Norcold cooling unit for a Pines Refrigeration unit last summer.  While parked on shore power or generator it works great.  While driving it acts like the cooling unit is not working at all.  When we unplug the coach to leave a campsite we can hear the propane light.  Today we drove from Hat Creek, CA to just north of Roseburg, OR - a trip of 280 miles.  The outside temperature never got over 74 degrees but the refrigerator went from 34 to 52 in about 7 hours.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Installing a residential fridge is not an option for a long list of reasons.

Have you stayed near to make sure it stays lit on propane?

My Pines unit, that Chris Snyder installed a few years ago cools better with propane than electricity.  meaning it cools down faster.  In real hot weather, say 110 to 115  degrees in Palm Springs it will maintain 8 degrees in the freezer, where  16  is about the best with electricity.  I would say call the boys at Pines, I imagine there is something wrong with the burner assembly, maybe it needs cleaning or the air mixture isn't correct, but I have  no clue as to how you make it right.  Chris is working in Roseburg,  his Phone number is 520-665-1014.  Tell him Tom told you to call him.  TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731.

I'm also sure Kevin or Bob could help you in the Eugene area.  I don't know if the boys at OMC  have any experience with the Pines unit.  But  with their years of experience should also be able to help  you.  TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731

We were having the same problem... refrigerator wouldn't stay cold when we were driving whether it was on gas or with the generator running. Tom Johnson RV in Marion, NC fixed it by taking the refrigerator out and re-wrapping the insulation. They said the old insulation had come loose which ended up sucking the cold out of the refrigerator when the coach was moving.

Mine did that after a new Dometic cooling unit installation and I had to remove the fridge and properly seal the back of the cooling unit with foil tape. Apparently the techs didn't have time to do it right.

Larry.........I didn't see your post before I posted the same problem.
My Dometic in question operates perfectly when it's stationary but totally defrosts and goes room temperature while driving. I'm at a loss to know why, too.
