Bedroom slideout - strains when retracting

Yahoo Message Number: 101172
We have a 2006 CC Inspire, 36'. The right side bedroom (cabinet) slide is  straining more and more when retracting in. Access to the mechanism isn't  obvious. The shear pin, hopefully, will give before anything serious develops,  but I would like to fix the problem before that. Are there any suggestions  please?

There is an access plate in the outside storage compartment under the slide.
You can lub the rack and pinion and the rollers once you remove the plate.

There is a removal cover plate on the roof of the storage compartment that gives access to the mechanism. If the pin is broken you want to be sure it is fully out. The square metal tube will slide off easily rearward so you can check the hole. I found by just nudging the switch the round shaft moves a little bit and you can slide the square piece back on lined up. I used a 1 1/4 inch (the only length I could get) grade 8 bolt with enough washers or both ends to even the circumference of the bolt ends to clear the rotating space. No problems since then.

Have had a tech lube our slides and just have not tried it myself.

Open the engine access rear door and you will see the actuator on the right hand side above the muffler. Try lubricating the mechanism.
