Why no 'Wait to Start' Light 2000 Magna

Yahoo Message Number: 101503
I've been replacing some of the indicator lights on my dash and wonder why I have no 'Wait to Start' light on my 2000 Magna. I've got a CAT C-10 and although the 'big book' says there is a 'Wait to Start' light, there isn't one on my dash.
I usually wait until the 'Check Engine' light goes out plus a few seconds more and then start the engine. What do others do?

Good question! I have the same one. When the ignition key is turned on the synthesized voice announces something like "performing system check". Then after a few seconds the voice says "system check complete". That is the point at which I start the engine.
If an attempt is made to start before "system check complete" is announced, sometimes the engine will not turn over. But it will always turn over and start if initiated after "system check complete" is announced. I could not find any reference to this protocol in the manual.
